Gramatik - Ass Kickin' Bass

Estava eu numa de explorar músicas num regime absolutamente totalitário e eis que encontro Gramatik.

Foi o partir de uma empedernida. A exploração dispersa cessou imediatamente e o meu alvo focou-se: Gramatik, um produtor da Eslovénia. 

Tive dificuldade em escolher uma só música para pôr aqui, mas "Ass Kickin' Bass" foi a eleita. Talvez por ter sido aquela que me despertou mais a curiosidade. Pertence ao álbum lançado em 2008, "Street Bangerz Vol.1", o primeiro de 3 volumes que tiraram Gramatik do anonimato.


I was in the mood to explore music in a true totalitarian regime when I came across with Gramatik.
The stone turned soft, the dispersed attention ceased and I focused on my new target: Gramatik, a producer from Slovenia.
I had trouble choosing a single music to post here but "Ass Kickin' Bass" was the elected one. Maybe because it was the one that arose my curiosity the most. It belongs to the 2008 released album "Street Bangerz Vol.1", the first of 3 albums that put Gramatik in the musical scene.

Real Estate - It's Real

Real Estate, uma banda de New Jersey (EUA) formada em 2008.

"It's Real" é o single do seu mais recente álbum "Days" que foi lançado em Outubro de 2011. Não é das músicas mais cativantes que já ouvi, nem daquelas que deixam o bichinho atrás da orelha para ir explorar. Mas é agradável, é alegre, é leve e, como já tenho dito, há momentos para tudo. Às vezes o mistério também cansa.

Real Estate was formed in 2008 in New Jersey, USA.

Their most recent album "Days" was released in October 2011 and the chosen single was this music, "It's Real". It's not the most appealing and captivating song I've heard, but it's light and joyful and there should be a time for everything. Too much mistery can be exhausting too.

Smoove - I'm a Man

Integrado habitualmente no dueto Smoove & Turrel, Smoove vem desta vez a solo presentear-nos com esta cover da música original dos The Spencer Davis Group (lançada em 1967), "I'm a Man". Música que faz parte do álbum "Gravy: Remixes & Rarities" lançado em 2007.

É caso para dizer: Smoove, the man of the Groove!

Usually integrated in a duet "Smoove & Turrel", Smoove steps forward solo this time, presenting us with a cover of the original music "I'm a Man" from The Spencer Davis Group (released in 1967). This song is one amongst others from the "Gravy: Remixes & Rarities" album, released in 2007.

We can always say: Smoove, the man of the Groove!

Foster The People - Houdini

Foster The People, uma banda da California formada em 2009. 

Ficaram mais recentemente conhecidos pela sua "Pumped Up Kicks" do álbum Torches lançado o ano passado (2011). Uma música que, talvez devido ao tom alegre dos assobios e batida constante, passe despercebida em relação ao seu conteúdo: um tiroteio numa escola.

No entanto, o álbum apresenta outras músicas que ficam (e bem) no ouvido, como esta "Houdini".

Foster The People, a Californian band formed in 2009.

They became recently known  for their "Pumped Up Kicks" from the "Torches" album released last year (2011). A song that, perhaps due to its cheerful whistles and drum set, got away with a more serious content: a school shooting.

However, this album presents us with other catchy songs, like this one, "Houdini".

Nem vale a pena ouvir esta música se não se tiver um sistema de som minimamente bom porque muito da sua essência vem dos graves.
